Jill's Birthday

Day 7
On Thursday (Oct. 9) Johnathan & I decided to go to the Smokey Mountains for my birthday. It was only 2 hours away so we thought we would make a day trip out of it. We left early in that morning so we could get in as much as we could. We stopped for breakfast at a cafe in a little mountain town outside of Cherokee, N.C.. It was soooooo yummy! I had pancakes & bacon while Johnathan had pecan & maple pancakes. The leaves had really started changing color by this time so I thought I was in heaven! After breakfast we went to a casino in Cherokee. If you know us at all you know that if there is a casino within 30 min. of where we are you can pretty much guarantee we will be there. This casino was a Harrah's casino similar to the one in Las Vegas. After we were there for about an hour we headed into the Smokey Mountains. I don't know how to expain it exept for with pictures. I am so glad we decided to make the trip there! When we got back, we had dinner at my aunt & uncles. Again, YUMMY!!! Thank you Meemaw, Papa, & Darla for taking care of the girls all day. What a blessing! Thank you too Joe for dinner; there was nothing better than the grilled corn (except maybe the birthday cake)!

This was taken in the town we ate breakfast in.

This river ran right beside the casino. Again, where were our fishing poles?
