Halloween 2008

This year for halloween I thought that Johnathan should pick out what the girls' costumes should be. We thought this would be a good idea b/c the girls will be old enough pick out their own costumes next year. So what did he decide? Pirates. I found the cutest costumes at Wal-Mart like a month and a half before halloween but went ahead & got them b/c you never know if they will still have them when you go back. They were so excited to wear their costumes! I even bought them eye patches & earings to top off the whole outfit. They wore the eye patch for about 1 minute because they "couldn't see". We went to a few family & friends houses to trick-or-treat. In my opinion, that is the safest way to do it. Plus, they still got as much candy as they would have going around to other houses. Here are some pictures from our Halloween night. Enjoy!

The Pumpkin Patch

I love the fall! There is nothing better than days when I can open our windows & just let the breeze come through our house. Something about it is so refreshing for me. I love the way that the leaves change color & the smell in the air of my neighbor's chimney early in the morning. And, what is fall without a trip to a pumpkin patch? We decided to take the girls to a local pumpkin patch/corn maze this year. I had seen some pictures that a friend of our had posted & it looked like so much fun. We went on a corn maze, picked out a couple pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, & played in the bucket of corn. I am pretty sure I was having way more fun than the girls (and my husband) were! Enjoy the pictures.

Heading Home

Day 10
Needless to say, we were not ready to leave North Carolina. On Sunday we ate lunch over at Joe & Darla's house. The newlywed couple was there & so was Chrissy (my cousin). What a great time we had with our family! We even had one more campfire with smores; we didn't want the evening to end! Thank you again Joe & Darla for having us & to Meemaw & Papa for all you did for us with the girls. This was the BEST trip we have ever taken. We miss you guys & hope to see you again next year!!!

The Best Day Of My Life (well, one of them!)

Day 9

This might have been the highlight of our whole trip. We got tickets to go the Nascar Race in Charlotte Saturday night. We LOVE Nascar!!!! As a matter of fact, we decided when Johnathan retires we are going to buy a mobile home & go to every race. Is that a little over the top? I think not!!! We just have 32 years to go!! Johnathan & I went with Uncle Joe & Papa. We had a blast!! Jessica Simpson had a 45 min. concert before the race, Cindy McCain spoke & Aaron Piersol (Olympic swimmer) said "Gentleman, start your engines." The whole experience took my breath away!! Seriously! (Please don't give me a hard time about that!) Enjoy the pictures!
